Dr. Maryjane Cable will be discussing Nathaniel Philbrick’s book “Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War”. Published in 2006, this book presents a journey to understand the truth behind one of our national myths: the voyage of the Mayflower and the settlement of Plymouth Colony. It covers that crucial half century from 1620-1676 that contained the seeds of what would come to define America. |

“Universalism from Origen to the Present” February 18, 2007 |
|
No, Origen is not a misspelling —he was an ancient 6th century Christian Theologian who believed in Universal Salvation; he was the first recorded Universalist. Universalism has gone through many changes over these thousands of years, and most recently many Unitarian Universalists have a wholly new concept of Universalism—a concept that Origen might not even recognize. The Rev. Tom Capo will be presenting as our February guest speaker. |
